(It is a bit confusing why the laptop came with the option set to RAID, yet there is only a single hard drive in the laptop.) Therefore, I had to change this option to "AHCI/NVMe", which is actually a normal option to use if you ask me, and then I have no trouble imaging the computer. Our WinPE boot disks (created using the standard Microsoft Deployment Toolkit - MDT), do not see this controller and our imaging task cannot format the hard drive, even though I have integrated the Intel RST VMD Controller driver into this WinPE boot disk.
In the Storage menu of the BIOS, it was initially set to "RAID On" mode.
We are currently reviewing a demo of the Dell Latitude 5420 laptop and I am seeing this exact same problem.
